HTML clipboard FRENCH ART DECO SIDE TABLE ADNETMade in France in the late 1930's this sidetable is a perfect example of the cubist design which flourished just before W.W.2.This piece has a distinctive "Jacques Adnet " touch with his streamlined style but elegant style. Jacques Adnet defines himself as an "innovator and classicist, a champion of the tradition leading toward the future." Infatuated with functionalism, he created solidly constructed furniture, very sober and often times completely lacking of all decor. I found a reference which convince me that it is one of its creation ( see picture from Art et decoration ). I bought it in France so it is guaranty to be an original French art deco piece of the modernist movement.
